Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children

We work with UASC young people and to achieve positive outcomes, we put in place a specialised support package based on the individual needs of the young person.

Holistic Health and Wellbeing Support

Support Hours will be used to address the specific needs of the young person, and will include target work to:

  • Supporting them to remain health by registering with a GP, dentist, optician and attend regular check-ups.
  • Support to manage the impact of past traumatic experiences that have led to them seeking asylum. We ensure our staff are trained in Trauma Informed Practice and our homes offer a therapeutic environment, helping young people to feel safe, secure and have space to process and recover from past trauma.
  • Support with managing their weekly allowance, budgeting, food shopping and promoting their cultural requirements.
